Act 2 Scene 3 Summary

  1. Friar Lawrence describes how beautiful the morning is, after he goes on to talk about how a weak flower can have poison and that it can even be used as medicine. Romeo enters and sad that he has lost his love for Rosaline and has fallen in love for Juliet, the Romeo asks Friar Lawrence to marry them and even though Friar Lawrence doesn’t like the idea he honks that this idea will stop the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets.

  1. This is good, Cris. Why did Shakespeare have Friar Lawrence use that image of the flower – is it related to the wider play?

    I’d encourage you to use quotations from the play as part of your summaries now that you’re working so fluently with this task.
